- Flathead screwdriver
- Phillips head screwdriver
- 10mm Hex wrench
- 5mm Allen Key
- Panel popper
- New replacement wiper motor
Instructions:
Step 1: Detach windshield wipers.
Press down on the release button and lift the front windshield wiper blade off of the linkage arm. Repeat on the other side of the vehicle.
Step 2: Remove plastic cowling.
Open the hood and remove the plastic cowling near where the windshield wipers attach to the vehicle. There are 4 plastic clips to remove to take the cowling off.
Step 3: Remove the bolts holding the wiper motor.
There are three 10mm hex bolts that secure the wiper motor in place.
Step 4: Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connection.
There is one electrical connection to the wiper motor.
Step 5: Detach the linkage arm.
There is a 5mm Allen Key bolt attaching the linkage arm to the wiper motor.
Step 6: Remove the wiper motor.
Once you have removed all of the bolts and disconnected the electrical connection, you can remove the wiper motor.
Step 7: Install the new wiper motor.
Insert the new wiper motor into the spot where it was removed. Reinstall the linkage arm and electrical connector.
Step 8: Secure the wiper motor.
Place the 10mm hex bolts back in place and tighten.
Step 9: Reattach the plastic cowling and wipers.
Replace the plastic cowling by locking it into place with the 4 plastic clips. Finally, reattach the front windshield wiper blades.
