How do you reset the abs and trac light on a Volvo 850?

Disconnect the battery. Open the hood and locate the negative battery terminal (usually marked with a black or blue tag). Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the terminal in place and remove the cable. Wait 15 minutes.

Reconnect the battery. After 15 minutes, reconnect the negative battery terminal. Tighten the nut until it is snug.

Turn the ignition key to the "On" position. Do not start the engine. The ABS and TRAC lights should come on.

Press and hold the ABS button for 3 seconds. The ABS light should start to flash.

Release the ABS button. The ABS light should go out and the TRAC light should come on.

Press and hold the TRAC button for 3 seconds. The TRAC light should start to flash.

Release the TRAC button. The TRAC light should go out.

Start the engine. The ABS and TRAC lights should be off.
