Where is the block heater for a 2011 Ford Escape?

The block heater on a 2011 Ford Escape (if equipped) is located in the engine block, typically near the thermostat housing or on the side of the engine block. It's a small, cylindrical element with a cord that runs to an external outlet.

Because it's embedded in the engine, you won't see it easily without removing some components or at least getting a very clear view underneath the vehicle. The cord will be the easiest thing to locate. Follow the cord from the external plug to find the location. Consult your owner's manual for a diagram or specific location. Not all 2011 Ford Escapes came with a block heater, so it may not be present at all.
