Last month, 6.503 units of the Nissan Leaf were sold in Europe. This is much more than the 2.997 units sold in Japan, the 1.500 units sold in the USA and the 423 units sold in Canada. With all these four regions combined we get a total of 11.423 Nissan Leafs sold in March.

Considering that in Europe the Tesla Model 3 is still far away, the Opel Ampera-e is a dead project and the Hyundai IONIQ Electric is almost an unicorn, the Nissan Leaf’s success isn’t surprising.
Nissan is proving that without production constraints electric cars can be successful, they don’t have to be perfect.
Anyway, the 11.423 Nissan Leafs sold in March will seem a ridiculous figure when this electric car starts selling in China. Then sales will reach much higher levels.
