The much awaited new improved Renault ZOE Neo is expected to have its first deliveries in September and will be officially unveiled next Monday (June 17).
As usual, when we start to get closer to the unveil event date, the data starts to leak.
Let’s see the most interesting data so far.
Motor: 100 kW
On-board charger: 22 kW
DC fast charging: 50 kW via CCS
Range (WLTP): 380-390 km (236-242 miles)
Battery capacity: 52-54 kWh

In this Renault parts catalog, besides the current 41 kWh battery and the future 54 kWh battery we see another one. The 30 kWh variant is very intriguing, but it could be just the one used on the Renault Kangoo/Master ZE 33 vans.
However, I hope that the 30 kWh battery is for an electric city car, such as the Renault Twingo ZE, since it’s exactly the same capacity that the prototype Smart vision EQ fortwo has… And we know that the Renault Twingo’s sibling, the Smart EQ forfour is getting a facelift in September. Sadly in the official Renault roadmap below we see no evidence of a Renault Twingo ZE, at least for 2019.

I’m very curious on what the nominal voltage of the battery will be. Will it remain in a 96s2p configuration, or will Renault move to a higher voltage configuration just like PSA did to support faster DC charging rates?
Anyway, the specs are great and we know that Renault will produce more electric cars than most of legacy automakers. But specs and availability aren’t everything, we still need to know the price. Considering the specs, the new Renault ZOE wasn’t designed to be an affordable electric car, so I really hope to see the Renault Twingo ZE finally arrive to be an alternative to the VW electric triplets.
Nevertheless, while I trust the data, until the official presentation we can’t be 100 % sure that all the leaked information is correct. We’ll have to wait just a little longer.
