How do you install Remote Start in your 2006 Dodge Caravan?

Parts Needed:

- Remote start system (with two remotes)

- Wiring harness

- Double-sided tape

- Zip ties

- Crimp connectors

- Wire strippers

- Pliers

- Screwdriver

Instructions:

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Locate the ignition switch harness behind the dashboard. It is the harness with the red/white, pink, and black wires.

3. Connect the remote start system’s red wire to the red/white wire on the ignition switch harness.

4. Connect the remote start system’s green wire to the pink wire on the ignition switch harness.

5. Connect the remote start system’s black wire to the black wire on the ignition switch harness.

6. Locate the starter solenoid wire on the starter motor. It is the small wire that is connected to the “S” terminal on the solenoid.

7. Connect the remote start system’s yellow wire to the starter solenoid wire.

8. Locate the parking brake switch wire. It is the wire that is connected to the parking brake switch.

9. Connect the remote start system’s blue wire to the parking brake switch wire.

10. Locate the horn wire. It is the wire that is connected to the horn.

11. Connect the remote start system’s orange wire to the horn wire.

12. Mount the remote start system’s control module in a secure location under the dashboard.

13. Connect the remote start system’s wiring harness to the control module.

14. Re-connect the negative battery terminal.

15. Test the remote start system by pressing the “Lock” button on the remote control. The engine should start and run for 10 minutes. If the engine does not start, check the wiring connections.
