Ignition coils are made up of a primary winding and a secondary winding. The primary winding is connected to the battery, and the secondary winding is connected to the spark plugs. When electricity flows through the primary winding, it creates a magnetic field. This magnetic field then induces a high voltage in the secondary winding, which is what creates the spark at the spark plugs.
If an ignition coil goes bad, it can cause a number of problems, including:
* Engine misfires
* Reduced engine power
* Poor fuel economy
* Rough idling
* Stalling
If you experience any of these symptoms, it's important to have your ignition coils checked by a qualified mechanic.
