Step 2: Locate the serpentine belt. It is usually located on the front of the engine and runs around the water pump, alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor.
Step 3: Loosen the tensioner pulley. The tensioner pulley is usually located near the top of the engine and has a bolt that runs through it. Use a wrench to loosen the bolt until the tensioner pulley moves.
Step 4: Remove the old serpentine belt. Once the tensioner pulley is loose, you can remove the old serpentine belt by sliding it off of the pulleys.
Step 5: Install the new serpentine belt. Place the new serpentine belt around the pulleys in the same order as the old belt. Make sure that the belt is seated properly in all of the pulleys.
Step 6: Tighten the tensioner pulley. Once the new serpentine belt is installed, tighten the tensioner pulley until the belt is taught.
Step 7: Start the engine and check for proper operation. Once the serpentine belt is installed, start the engine and check for proper operation. Make sure that the belt is running smoothly and that there is no noise or vibration.
