Step 1: Disconnect the battery
Before you begin any electrical work, it is important to disconnect the battery. This will prevent any damage to the stereo or your vehicle's electrical system.
Step 2: Remove the old stereo
Use the radio removal tools to pry the old stereo out of the dash. Be careful not to damage the dash or the stereo.
Step 3: Disconnect the old stereo wiring
Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the old stereo. Be careful to note which wire goes to which terminal.
Step 4: Connect the new stereo wiring
Connect the wiring harness adapter to the new stereo. Match the colors of the wires to the terminals on the adapter.
Step 5: Connect the antenna
If your car has an antenna, connect the antenna adapter to the new stereo.
Step 6: Test the stereo
Turn on the stereo and test the sound. Make sure that all of the speakers are working properly.
Step 7: Reinstall the stereo
Slide the new stereo back into the dash and secure it with the screws.
Step 8: Reconnect the battery
Reconnect the battery and test the stereo again.
Step 9: Enjoy your new stereo!
Your new Pioneer car stereo is now installed and ready to enjoy.
