1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Loosen the pivot bolt on the alternator.
3. Loosen the tension on the belt by turning the adjusting bolt clockwise.
4. Remove the belt from the alternator and water pump.
5. Install the new belt by looping it first over alternator pulley, then over the water pump pulley.
6. Tighten the belt by turning the adjusting bolt counterclockwise until the belt is tight.
7. Tighten the pivot bolt.
8. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
