Tools and Materials Needed:
- New car battery (check your vehicle's owner's manual for the correct type)
- Socket wrench
- Ratchet
- Socket extension
- Eye protection
Instructions:
1. Open your vehicle's hood.
2. Locate the battery, which is usually on the passenger's side of the vehicle near the front.
3. Identify the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on the battery.
4. Put on your eye protection.
5. Use the socket wrench and ratchet to loosen the nut on the negative (-) terminal.
6. Remove the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery terminal.
7. Use the socket wrench and ratchet to loosen the nut on the positive (+) terminal.
8. Remove the positive (+) terminal cable from the battery terminal.
9. Lift the old battery out of the vehicle.
10. Place the new battery in the vehicle.
11. Replace the positive (+) terminal cable onto the battery terminal and secure it with the nut.
12. Replace the negative (-) terminal cable onto the battery terminal and secure it with the nut.
13. Close the hood of the vehicle.
Tips:
* Make sure to turn off the engine and allow it to cool down before replacing the battery.
* Be careful not to drop the battery as it is heavy and can cause injury.
* If the battery terminals are corroded, you can use a wire brush to clean them.
