2. Remove the skid plate if necessary.
3. Place an oil pan under the drain plug to catch the oil.
4. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the drain plug and let the oil drain completely.
5. Replace the drain plug and tighten it securely.
6. Locate the oil filter. It is a cylindrical-shaped object that is usually black in color.
7. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the oil filter. Be careful not to spill any oil.
8. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
9. Screw the new oil filter into place by hand until it is snug. Do not overtighten.
10. Add 5 quarts of 5W-20 motor oil to the engine through the oil fill cap.
11. Replace the oil fill cap and start the engine. Let it run for a few minutes, then turn it off and check for leaks.
