2. Gently apply the brakes to slow down the vehicle.
3. Do not slam on the brakes, as this could cause you to lose control of the vehicle.
4. Pull over to the side of the road in a safe location.
5. Turn on your hazard lights.
6. Get out of the vehicle and inspect the hood.
7. If the hood is not properly closed, close it and secure it.
8. If you are unable to close the hood, call for roadside assistance.
