- Socket set
- Flat-head screwdriver
- 16mm spanner
- 19mm spanner
- Allen key set
- Timing belt kit (including new cam belt, tensioner, and idler pulley)
Instructions:
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Remove the top timing belt cover.
4. Turn the crankshaft using the 19mm spanner until the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft pulleys are aligned.
5. Insert an Allen key into the tensioner and rotate it clockwise until the pin engages in the hole in the tensioner.
6. Loosen the timing belt bolt and remove the bolt
7. Remove the timing belt
8. Fit the new timing belt, starting at the crankshaft timing mark and ensuring that the teeth are correctly engaged on the pulleys.
9. Refasten the timing belt with the bolt by hand, but do not tighten fully.
10. Remove the Allen key from the tensioner to allow the belt to tension.
11. Tighten the timing belt bolt to the correct torque 43 Nm +/- 5 Nm(32ft lb ± 4 ft lb)
12. Reinstall the top timing belt cover and engine cover.
13. Reconnect the battery.
