MTD log splitter with a Briggs 5.5 HP engine doesn't have an oil drain plug. To change the oil on this engine, follow these steps:

• Place an oil pan under the engine

• Remove the dipstick to release air pressure

• Place an oil pan under the spark plug hole

• Tilt the machine on its side to drain oil from spark plug hole.

• Reinstall the spark plug

• Remove the air cleaner cover and add new oil through the air cleaner hole until an appropriate level shows on the dipstick

Note: Briggs 5.5 HP engine holds approximately .51 liters or (17 oz) or 1 pint 1 1/2 ounce SAE 30
