On a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the fuel system check valve isn't located in the fuel pressure regulator itself, nor is it directly integrated into the fuel pump assembly in the traditional sense. Instead, the check valve function is usually incorporated
within the fuel pump module inside the fuel tank.
It's not a standalone, easily identifiable part like a separate valve you might find in some systems. It's an integral component of the fuel pump assembly preventing fuel from draining back into the tank after the engine is turned off. To access it, you'd need to drop the fuel tank.
