- Replacement air filter (check owner's manual for specific part number)
- Flathead screwdriver
- Clean rags or paper towels
Instructions:
1. Locate the air filter housing: The air filter housing is usually located inside the engine bay. In some models, it can be found behind the glove box. Look for a black plastic cover with the words "Air Filter" or "Air Cleaner" written on it.
2. Open Air Filter Housing: Some have twist-to-open covers while others might require a flat-head screwdriver to unlatch a clip.
3. Remove the old air filter: Once you've opened the air filter housing, you'll see the old air filter inside. Carefully remove it by lifting it out. Be careful not to drop any dirt or debris into the housing.
4. Inspect the air filter housing: Take a moment to inspect the inside of the air filter housing for any dirt or debris. If you see any, use a clean rag or paper towel to wipe it out.
5. Install the new air filter: Take the new air filter and place it inside the housing. Make sure that it's seated properly and that the gasket is in place.
6. Replace the air filter cover: Close the air filter housing. Reattach the cover and secure the clips or screws. Make sure the cover is closed securely.
7. Test the air filter housing: Start the vehicle and let it run for a few minutes. You should notice an improvement in acceleration and overall engine performance.
