>1. Warm-up the engine. Idle adjustment should be done with the engine at operating temperature.
2. Locate the idle speed adjustment screw. On the QuadRunner 250, it's located on the right side of the carburetor, just below the throttle cable.
3. Turn the idle speed adjustment screw. Use a screwdriver to turn the screw clockwise to increase idle speed, or counterclockwise to decrease it.
4. Adjust the idle speed to the desired setting. Refer to your owner's manual for the correct idle speed for your model.
Tips:
- If the idle speed is too high, the engine may race or surge. If it's too low, the engine may stall or run rough.
- Make small adjustments to the idle speed screw, and be careful not to turn it too far.
- If you're having trouble getting the idle speed set correctly, consult with a qualified mechanic.
