1. Pull the hood release inside the car.
2. Get out and go to the passenger side of the car.
3. Turn the lever down so that the flat area of the lever rests on the frame of the car.
4. Walk to the front of the car and grab the hood.
5. While looking down at the lever ensure the lever moves when raising the hood.
6. Once fully open, put the metal stick that used to hold the engine compartment closed into the hole of the hood.
