How do you install a heater core in 89 ford bronco?

Tools and Materials:

- Phillips screwdriver

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Socket wrench set

- 1/4-inch ratchet

- 5/16-inch socket

- 7/16-inch socket

- 9/16-inch socket

- 11/16-inch socket

- Heater core

- Gaskets

- Coolant

- Distilled water

- Funnel

Instructions:

1. Park your Bronco in a level spot and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down completely.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Remove the following components in the order listed:

- The two heater hoses at the firewall.

- The vacuum line at the heater control valve.

- The electrical connector at the blower motor.

- The two bolts holding the blower motor in place.

- The blower motor.

4. Remove the four screws holding the heater core cover in place.

5. Remove the heater core cover.

6. Remove the two bolts holding the heater core in place.

7. Lift the heater core out of the housing.

8. Inspect the heater core for leaks. If there are any leaks, replace the heater core.

9. Install the new heater core in the housing.

10. Reinstall the two bolts holding the heater core in place.

11. Reinstall the heater core cover.

12. Reinstall the four screws holding the heater core cover in place.

13. Reconnect the components that were removed in step 3 in the reverse order that you removed them.

14. Refill the cooling system with a 50/50 mixture of coolant and distilled water.

15. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

16. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes.

17. Check for leaks in the cooling system. If there are any leaks, tighten the loose connections.

18. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.

19. Check the coolant level in the radiator and add more coolant if necessary.

Your heater core is now installed.
