1. Park your car on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood of your car.
3. Locate the brake fluid reservoir - it is usually located on the front of the vehicle near the top. It will be a clear or translucent plastic container with a black cap marked "Brake Fluid".
4. Remove the cap from the brake fluid reservoir.
5. Check the level of brake fluid in the reservoir. It should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the side of the reservoir.
6. If the brake fluid is low, add enough new brake fluid to bring it up to the "MAX" mark. Use only brake fluid that meets the specifications for your vehicle.
7. Replace the cap on the brake fluid reservoir and close the hood of your car.
8. Test the brakes by pressing down on the brake pedal. It should feel firm and should not go all the way to the floor.
9. If necessary, repeat steps 5-8 until the brake fluid level is correct and the brakes feel firm.
