Gather your materials:
- New coolant (type specified in your owner's manual)
- Funnel
- Drain pan
- Wrench
- Screwdriver
- Socket set
- Safety goggles
Prepare the bike:
1. Ensure that the engine is cool to the touch.
2. Park the bike on a flat and level surface.
Locate the drain plug:
1. The drain plug is usually located on the bottom of the radiator.
2. It is usually a 10 mm bolt or petcock.
Drain the old coolant:
1. Place the drain pan under the drain plug.
2. Use the wrench or screwdriver to loosen the drain plug.
3. Allow the old coolant to drain completely into the drain pan.
Close the drain plug:
1. Once the old coolant has drained, tighten the drain plug until it is snug.
Locate the radiator cap:
1. The radiator cap is usually located on the top of the radiator.
2. It is usually a black or blue plastic cap.
Remove the radiator cap:
1. Use the screwdriver or socket set to loosen the radiator cap.
2. Be careful as the coolant may still be hot.
Add new coolant:
1. Use the funnel to add new coolant to the radiator.
2. Fill the radiator to the level specified in your owner's manual.
3. Replace and tighten the radiator cap.
Start the bike and check for leaks:
1. Start the bike and let it run for a few minutes.
2. Check for any leaks around the radiator and drain plug.
3. If there are no leaks, turn off the bike and allow it to cool down.
Dispose of the old coolant:
1. Dispose of the old coolant responsibly according to local regulations.
2. Never pour coolant down the drain or onto the ground.
