1. Ensure that the vehicle's engine is turned off.
2. Locate the diagnostic connector, which is usually a 16-pin connector located under the dashboard on the driver's side.
3. Connect a scan tool or a code reader to the diagnostic connector.
4. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
5. Follow the prompts on the scan tool or code reader to access the vehicle's diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
6. Once the DTCs are displayed, select the option to clear or erase the codes.
7. Confirm that you want to clear the codes, and the scan tool or code reader will reset the Service Engine Soon light.
8. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the scan tool or code reader.
9. Start the engine, and the Service Engine Soon light should be turned off.
It's important to note that if the cause of the Service Engine Soon light is not resolved, it will likely turn on again. Therefore, it is recommended to have the vehicle diagnosed by a qualified mechanic to determine the underlying issue and repair it as needed.
