Gather the necessary tools and materials.
* Replacement bulb
* Phillips head screwdriver
* Flat head screwdriver or trim removal tool
* Optional: work gloves and safety glasses
Prepare the vehicle.
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal (this is only necessary if you are replacing the bulb on the driver's side).
Remove the tail light assembly.
1. Locate the tail light assembly on the rear of the vehicle.
2. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that secure the tail light assembly to the vehicle.
3. Carefully pull the tail light assembly out of the vehicle.
Remove the old bulb.
1. Locate the bulb that you need to replace.
2. Twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the socket.
Install the new bulb.
1. Insert the new bulb into the socket.
2. Twist the bulb clockwise until it is secure.
Reinstall the tail light assembly.
1. Carefully align the tail light assembly with the holes in the vehicle.
2. Insert the screws that you removed in step 2 and tighten them until they are secure.
Reconnect the battery terminal (if necessary).
1. If you disconnected the negative battery terminal in step 4, reconnect it now.
Test the new bulb.
1. Turn on the headlights and check to make sure that the new bulb is working properly.
