1. Driver's side dashboard: Look through the windshield from the driver's side. The VIN should be stamped onto the dashboard, visible from the outside.
2. Driver's side doorjamb: Open the driver's side door. The VIN might be stamped on the doorjamb itself, usually near the latch area.
3. Vehicle identification plate: This is a metal plate riveted to the vehicle, often found on the driver's side firewall (the area between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment). While this plate shows the VIN, it's less likely to be easily visible without removing some trim.
It's best to start by checking the dashboard and doorjamb first, as those are the most accessible locations. If you can't find it in either of those places, you may need a flashlight and possibly to remove some trim to find the vehicle identification plate.
