Citroen berlingo 1.9 van where are air bleed points on cooling system?

Air bleed points on a Citroen Berlingo 1.9 van:

  1. There is a air bleeding screw on the thermostat housing.
  2. You will see another bleeder screw on the back of the engine (cylinder head). This could be hidden under the intake manifold. Be careful when loosening the bleed screw as the engine could still be hot.

Here are the steps to bleed the air from the cooling system:

1. Park the van on level ground and turn off the engine.

2. Open the radiator cap or overflow tank.

3. Locate the air bleed screws on the thermostat housing and cylinder head.

4. Loosen the air bleed screws to allow air to escape from the system. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws, as this can damage the threads

5. Allow all of the air to escape from the system. You may need to squeeze the radiator hoses or rev the engine to help remove all of the air.

6. When you are sure that all of the air has been removed from the system, tighten the air bleed screws.

7. Add coolant to the radiator or overflow tank until it is full.
