To change the back seat cushion on a C4 Corvette with standard seats, follow these steps:

Tools and Materials Needed

- Phillips-head screwdriver

- Flat-head screwdriver

Instructions

1. Remove the Seat Bottom Cushions

- Begin by removing the front seat cushions. To do this, locate the two Phillips-head screws at the front of each seat cushion and remove them.

- Once the screws are removed, lift up the front edge of the seat cushion and pull it forward to disengage it from the seat frame.

- Repeat this process for the other front seat cushion.

2. Disconnect the Seat Belt Buckle

- Next, disconnect the seat belt buckle from the seat frame. To do this, locate the two bolts that secure the seat belt buckle to the frame and remove them using a ratchet and socket wrench.

- Once the bolts are removed, pull the seat belt buckle out to disconnect it from the seat frame.

3. Remove the Rear Seat Cushion Cover

- Locate the Phillips-head screws along the bottom of the rear seat panel between the seat and the parcel shelf. Remove the Phillips-head screws. Slide the rear seat panel slightly forward so the upper corners become accessible, and then remove the Phillips-head screws that hold the upper part of the panel to the parcel shelf.

- Locate the T30 Torx screws that hold the seat cushion cover at the front and at the sides. Remove the T30 Torx screws.

- Grip the front lip of the seat cushion and pull straight up to lift the cushion off its attachment pins along the back and sides. Lift the rear seat cushion cover up over the seat back.

4. Install the New Seat Cushion

- Place the new seat cushion over the seat frame and align it with the attachment points.

- Make sure that the cushion is properly seated in the attachment points and that it is level.

5. Reinstall the Seat Cushion Cover

- Lower the seat cushion cover back over the seat frame and align the attachment pins.

- Press the cushion down to engage it with the attachment pins, then reinstall the T30 Torx screws.

6. Reinstall the Rear Seat Panel

- Slide the rear seat panel back in place, then reinstall the Phillips-head screws at the bottom and the top of the panel.

7. Reconnect the Seat Belt Buckle

- Position the seat belt buckle against the seat frame and align it with the bolt holes.

- Insert the bolts and tighten them using a ratchet and socket wrench.

8. Reinstall the Front Seat Cushions

- To reinstall the front seat cushions, simply lift them up and slide them into place until they engage with the seat frame.

- Reinstall the Phillips-head screws at the front of each seat cushion to secure them in place.
