1. Remove the air filter restriction. This is usually a plastic piece located inside the air filter box. To remove it, simply unscrew the screws holding it in place and pull it out.
2. Change the exhaust pipe. The stock exhaust pipe on a Peugeot Vivacity 50cc scooter is restrictive, which limits the amount of air that can flow through it. Replacing the stock exhaust pipe with a performance exhaust pipe will allow for more air to flow through, which will result in increased power.
3. Adjust the carburetor. The carburetor on a Peugeot Vivacity 50cc scooter is set from the factory to provide the correct amount of fuel for the stock engine. However, when you derestrict the engine, you will need to adjust the carburetor to provide more fuel. To do this, you will need to turn the carburetor mixture screw clockwise until it is seated, and then turn it out 1.5 to 2 turns.
4. Test the scooter. Once you have made all of the necessary adjustments, it is time to test the scooter. Take it for a ride and see how it performs. If you notice any problems, such as hesitation, popping, or sputtering, you may need to make further adjustments to the carburetor.
Note: Derestricting your scooter may void the warranty and is illegal in some jurisdictions. It is important to check the laws in your area before making any modifications to your scooter.
