How to change brakes on 2003 Saturn L200?

Here are the steps to change the brakes on a 2003 Saturn L200:

1. Gather the necessary tools and materials. You will need:

- New brake pads and rotors

- Brake fluid

- C-clamp or brake caliper spreader

- Wrenches

- Socket set

- Screwdriver

- Safety glasses

2. Prepare your vehicle. Park your car on a level surface, and engage the parking brake. If you can’t pull your vehicle up on ramps or a jack stand, chock the wheels to help keep the car from rolling. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.

3. Remove the wheels. Use a lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the wheel that you are working on. Then, use a jack to raise the car off the ground. Remove the lug nuts and pull the wheel off the hub.

4. Remove the caliper bracket. Locate the caliper bracket, which is held in place by two bolts. Remove the bolts using a wrench, and then carefully lift the caliper bracket off of the rotor.

5. Remove the brake pads. The brake pads are located inside the caliper bracket. Use a screwdriver to pry the brake pads out of the caliper bracket.

7. Remove the old brake rotor. To get to the old rotor, you will need to remove the caliper. Disconnect the brake hose from the caliper, being careful not to spill any brake fluid. You may need a brake hose wrench to loosen the brake hose. Remove the nuts holding the caliper in place and remove the caliper. Take the old brake rotor off of the hub.

8. Inspect the brake rotor for damage. If the rotor is warped or cracked, it will need to be replaced.

9. Install the new brake pads. Place the new brake pads in the caliper bracket. Make sure that the pads are seated properly.

10. Install the caliper bracket. Reinstall the caliper bracket and bolts, and tighten the bolts until they are snug.

11. Reinstall the wheel. Put the wheel back on the hub and replace the lug nuts. Tighten the lug nuts until they are snug.

12. Lower the vehicle. Use the jack to lower the vehicle off the jack stands or ramps.

13. Test the brakes. Pump the brake pedal several times to make sure that the brakes are working properly. Take the car for a test drive to make sure that the brakes are working properly.

14. Check the brake fluid level. The brake fluid level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the reservoir. If the brake fluid level is low, add brake fluid to the reservoir.
