How do you change front brake pads on 2007 Pontiac grand prix?

Tools:

- Jack and jack stands

- Lug wrench

- Socket set

- Caliper compression tool

- Safety glasses

- Gloves

Parts:

- New brake pads

- Brake grease

Instructions:

1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Engage the parking brake.

3. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels.

4. Jack up the front of the car and place it on jack stands.

5. Remove the lug nuts and wheels.

6. Use a socket wrench to remove the two bolts holding the caliper in place.

7. Remove the caliper and hang it from the frame with a piece of wire or bungee cord.

8. Use a brake grease to the slide pins on the caliper bracket and the back of the brake pads.

9. Install the new brake pads.

10. Reinstall the caliper and tighten the bolts.

11. Reinstall the wheels and lug nuts.

12. Lower the car and remove the jack stands.

13. Test the brakes by driving slowly and applying the brakes lightly.

Tips:

* Be careful not to get brake fluid on your skin or in your eyes.

* If you do get brake fluid on your skin, wash it off immediately with soap and water.

* If you do get brake fluid in your eyes, flush them immediately with water and seek medical attention.

* Be sure to check your brake fluid reservoir level and fill it if necessary.
