1. Open hood.
2. Locate the low-beam headlight assembly behind the headlight lens inside the engine bay.
3. Remove the cover from the back of the headlight assembly by turning the cover counterclockwise.
4. Remove the old bulb from the socket by turning it counterclockwise.
5. Inspect the old bulb for any damage or defects.
6. Install the new bulb into the socket by turning it clockwise.
7. Replace the cover on the back of the headlight assembly by turning the cover clockwise.
8. Close the hood.
To replace the left low-beam headlight bulb on a 1997 GMC Safari:
1. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left.
2. Open the hood.
3. Locate the low-beam headlight assembly behind the headlight lens inside the engine bay.
4. Remove the cover from the back of the headlight assembly by turning the cover counterclockwise.
5. Remove the old bulb from the socket by turning it counterclockwise.
6. Inspect the old bulb for any damage or defects.
7. Install the new bulb into the socket by turning it clockwise.
8. Replace the cover on the back of the headlight assembly by turning the cover clockwise.
9. Close the hood.
