1. Park the mower on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool completely.
3. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent the engine from starting accidentally.
4. Locate the belt cover on the mower deck. It is usually held in place by a few bolts or screws.
5. Remove the belt cover to expose the belt and pulleys.
6. Loosen the tensioner pulley bolt or nut to relieve tension on the belt.
7. Remove the old belt from the pulleys.
8. Check the condition of the pulleys for wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
9. Install the new belt around the pulleys, starting with the tensioner pulley.
10. Tighten the tensioner pulley bolt or nut to apply tension to the belt.
11. Replace the belt cover and secure it in place.
12. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
13. Start the engine and check that the blades are operating correctly.
