1. Park your lawn mower on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Turn off the engine and allow the mower to cool.
3. Remove the spark plug wire to prevent the engine from starting accidentally.
4. Locate the mower deck and remove the belt guard.
5. Remove the old mower belt by slipping it off the pulleys.
6. Inspect the pulleys and make sure they are clean and free of debris.
7. Install the new mower belt by looping it around the pulleys.
8. Make sure the belt is properly seated on the pulleys and adjust the tension if necessary.
9. Replace the belt guard and the spark plug wire.
10. Start the engine and test the mower to make sure the belt is working properly.
