1. Park your motorcycle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Locate the rear shock absorbers. They are located on either side of the rear wheel, just below the seat.
3. Locate the adjustment knob on the top of each shock absorber.
4. Use the wrench to turn the adjustment knob clockwise to increase the preload on the shock absorber, or counterclockwise to decrease the preload.
5. Continue turning the adjustment knob until you reach the desired preload setting. The recommended preload setting for the Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic 1997 is 25mm of sag
6. Test ride your motorcycle to ensure that the shocks are set to your liking.
