How to remove clutch cable for a 2006 wide glide harley?

Tools needed:

* 3/8-inch ratchet

* 1/2-inch socket

* 1/2-inch extension

* 3/8-inch open-end wrench

* Flat-head screwdriver

* Pliers

Instructions:

1. Park the motorcycle on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Locate the clutch cable adjuster on the left side of the motorcycle, near the handlebars.

4. Use the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket to loosen the locknut on the clutch cable adjuster.

5. Turn the adjuster screw clockwise until it stops to loosen the clutch cable.

6. Locate the clutch cable bracket on the bottom of the motorcycle, near the transmission.

7. Remove the two 3/8-inch bolts holding the clutch cable bracket to the motorcycle frame.

8. Remove the clutch cable from the bracket.

9. Locate the clutch lever on the left handlebar.

10. Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry off the dust cover on the clutch lever.

11. Use the pliers to remove the E-clip from the clutch lever shaft.

12. Remove the clutch lever from the motorcycle handlebar.

13. Reinstall the dust cover on the clutch lever.

14. Reinstall the clutch cable in the bracket on the bottom of the motorcycle.

15. Reinstall the two 3/8-inch bolts holding the clutch cable bracket to the motorcycle frame.

16. Reattach the negative battery cable.

17. Adjust the clutch cable so that there is about 1/8-inch of free play at the clutch lever.
