Instructions:
1. Loosen the front axle pinch bolts.
- Start by loosening the pinch bolts on the front forks using the wrench. Do not completely remove the bolts yet.
2. Remove the front wheel.
- Loosen the axle nuts on both sides of the front wheel using the wrench. You may need to use a cheater pipe or a breaker bar for extra leverage.
- Once the axle nuts are loose, remove the axle and lift the front wheel off the forks.
3. Remove the caliper and brake pads.
- Unbolt the brake caliper and remove it from the fork assembly.
- Remove the brake pads from the caliper.
4. Loosen the fork cap bolts.
- Loosen the bolts on the top of the fork caps, but do not remove them completely.
5. Remove the fork tubes from the triple tree.
- Hold the bottom of the fork tubes and carefully tap the top of the triple tree with a soft mallet or rubber hammer.
- The fork tubes should come loose and slide out of the triple tree.
6. Remove the fork seals.
- Use the seal puller to remove the old fork seals from the fork tubes.
7. Install new fork seals.
- Coat the new fork seals with a thin coat of fork oil.
- Use the seal driver to carefully install the new fork seals onto the fork tubes.
8. Check the fork tube oil drain hole.
- Before you re-install the fork tubes, double check that the fork tube oil drain hole is clear and unobstructed.
9. Reinstall the fork tubes into triple tree.
- After you've double checked the oil drain hole, slide the fork tubes back up into the triple tree.
10. Reinstall the fork caps.
- Now, fully tighten the fork caps bolts.
11. Reattach the brake pads and caliper.
- Reinstall the brake pads into the caliper and reinstall the caliper and make sure you tighten the caliper bolts.
12. Reattach the front wheel and tighten axle nut.
- Align the front axle with the hole on the forks and slide it through, then place the axle nut on the axle and then fully tighten the axle nut using the wrench.
13. Retighten the pinch bolts.
- Finally, tighten the pinch bolts on the fork legs to secure the front wheel.
14. Add new fork oil.
- Refill the fork tubes with new fork oil using a measuring cup or syringe.
- The amount of fork oil required may vary depending on your motorcycle model, so refer to your owner's manual or service manual for the exact amount.
15. Test the forks.
- After filling the forks with oil, compress and release them a few times. Ensure the forks move smoothly and there is no visible leakage from the fork seals.
