Instructions:
1. Park the van on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel that has the bad wheel bearing.
3. Jack the van up and place jack stands under the frame.
4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
5. Remove the brake caliper by removing the two 17mm bolts that hold it in place.
6. Hang the brake caliper from the frame with a piece of wire.
7. Remove the 32mm axle nut.
8. Pry the hub out of the bearing with a pry bar.
9. Clean the bearing surface on the hub and spindle.
10. Install the new wheel bearing into the hub.
11. Drive the new bearing into place with a dead blow hammer.
12. Install the axle nut and tighten it to 250 Nm (184 lb-ft).
13. Reinstall the brake caliper and wheel.
14. Lower the van and remove the jack stands.
15. Test drive the van to ensure that the new wheel bearing is working properly.
Tips:
- Be sure to clean the bearing surface on the hub and spindle thoroughly before installing the new wheel bearing. This will help to ensure a proper fit and long life for the new bearing.
- When driving the new bearing into place, be sure to use a dead blow hammer to avoid damaging the bearing.
- Tighten the axle nut to the specified torque to ensure a proper fit and long life for the new wheel bearing.
- Test drive the van to ensure that the new wheel bearing is working properly.
