89 BMW 535i door lock mechanism is not responding to the key open doors Have had this problem before when there was no power assist Any answer on how manually doors?

Method 1: Using the Key

1. Insert the key into the driver's side door lock.

2. Turn the key clockwise as far as it will go, then back counterclockwise until it stops.

3. While holding the key in this position, pull up on the door handle and open the door.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the other doors.

Method 2: Using the Interior Door Release

1. Pull up on the interior door handle to try and open the door.

2. If the door does not open, look for a small, plastic lever near the door handle.

3. Press and hold the lever while pulling up on the door handle.

4. The door should now open.

Method 3: Using the Emergency Release Cable

1. Open the trunk of your BMW.

2. Locate the emergency release cable, which is usually located on the passenger side of the trunk.

3. Pull on the emergency release cable to open the driver's side door.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the other doors.

Additional tips:

- If the door locks are frozen, you can try to thaw them out using a hair dryer or heat gun.
