Alternator wiring digram for a Bosch alternator?

Here is a wiring diagram for a typical Bosch alternator:

Key:

* B+: Positive battery terminal

* D+: Output terminal to the electrical system

* F: Field terminal (excitation)

* W: Warning light terminal/alternator sense

* IG: Ignition terminal (optional)

Connections:

1. Connect the B+ terminal to the positive battery terminal.

2. Connect the D+ terminal to the electrical system.

3. Connect the F terminal to the field terminal on the voltage regulator.

4. Connect the W terminal to the warning light terminal/alternator sense on the instrument cluster.

5. Connect the IG terminal to the ignition switch (optional).

Note: The IG terminal is not always present on Bosch alternators. If it is not present, it is not necessary to connect it.
