- Replacement Headlight Bulb:
- Socket wrench or driver with 10 mm socket
- Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool
- Flashlight (Optional)
Instructions:
1. Open the Hood:
- Pull the hood release lever inside your car, and then locate the hood release latch (usually at the front center of the engine bay).
- Pull the hood release latch, and lift up the hood.
- Secure the hood with the support rod.
2. Locate the Headlight Assembly:
- Each headlight assembly is located behind the corresponding headlight lens on the front of your Pontiac Sunfire.
3. Remove the Headlight Cover:
- Locate the headlight cover on the rear side of the headlight assembly.
- Use a flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool to carefully pry open the clips that hold the cover in place.
- Remove the headlight cover.
4. Remove the Headlight Bulb:
- Locate the headlight bulb socket inside the headlight assembly.
- Use the socket wrench or driver to turn the socket counterclockwise, and remove it from the assembly.
- Remove the old headlight bulb from the socket.
5. Install the New Headlight Bulb:
- Take the new headlight bulb and align it with the socket.
- Push the new headlight bulb into the socket, and turn the socket clockwise until it is secure.
6. Replace the Headlight Cover:
- Put the headlight cover back in place.
- Secure the headlight cover by pressing the clips until they snap into place.
7. Close the Hood:
- Lower the hood of the car.
- Release the hood support rod, and push the hood down until it locks.
- You have successfully replaced the headlight bulb.
