1. Tools and materials:
- Replacement xenon HID headlight bulb (D1S or D3S)
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Flashlight
2. Park your car on a flat surface: Turn off the engine, park your car, and engage the parking brake.
3. Locate the headlight assembly: The headlight assembly is located behind the front bumper of the car.
4. Remove the front bumper:
- Open the hood of the car.
- Remove the screws holding the front bumper in place.
- Carefully pull the front bumper off of the car, taking care not to damage any wires or sensors.
- Set the front bumper aside in a safe place.
5. Remove the headlight assembly:
- Disconnect the electrical connector to the headlight assembly by pressing down on the tab and pulling the connector straight back.
- Remove the Phillips head screws that secure the headlight assembly in place.
- Carefully pull the headlight assembly out of the car, being mindful of any wires or sensors that may be attached to it.
6. Replace the headlight bulb:
- Remove the rubber cap from the back of the headlight assembly.
- Locate the xenon HID bulb.
- Turn the bulb counterclockwise to release it from the housing.
- Insert the new xenon HID bulb into the housing and turn it clockwise until it locks into place.
7. Reassemble the headlight assembly and reinstall the front bumper:
- Reattach the electrical connector to the headlight assembly.
- Secure the headlight assembly back in place with the Phillips head screws.
- Reinstall the front bumper and reconnect any wires or sensors that may have been disconnected.
8. Test the new headlight bulb:
- Turn on the ignition and headlights to verify that the new bulb is working properly.
