- A Phillips head screwdriver
- A flat head screwdriver
- A TORX T30 screwdriver
- A 10mm socket wrench
- A 13mm socket wrench
- A safety glasses
Instructions:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of your car's battery. This will help prevent any electrical accidents while you're working.
2. Locate the airbag sensor. In most BMW models, it is located under the dashboard, on the passenger side.
3. Remove the screws that hold the airbag sensor in place. There will be two Phillips head screws and one TORX T30 screw.
4. Carefully disconnect the electrical connector from the airbag sensor.
5. Remove the old airbag sensor from the vehicle.
6. Install the new airbag sensor in the vehicle.
7. Reconnect the electrical connector to the new airbag sensor.
8. Replace the screws that hold the airbag sensor in place.
9. Reconnect the negative terminal of your car's battery.
10. Start your car and check to make sure that the airbag light is off.
If the airbag light is still on, you may need to have the car's SRS system diagnosed by a professional mechanic.
