1. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle's diagnostic port. This port is usually located under the driver's side dashboard.
2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine.
3. Follow the prompts on the scanner to select the "Reset Check Engine Light" option.
4. Confirm that you want to reset the light.
5. The scanner will reset the check engine light and clear any stored diagnostic trouble codes.
6. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position and disconnect the scanner.
Note: If the check engine light comes back on after resetting it, there may be an underlying problem with the vehicle that needs to be addressed. It is recommended to have the vehicle checked by a qualified mechanic if the check engine light comes back on.
