Procedure:
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Chock the front wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
3. Raise the rear of the vehicle with a floor jack and support it on jack stands.
4. Remove the lug nuts and wheels from the rear of the vehicle.
5. Remove the brake caliper and rotor from the side where the ball joint is to be replaced.
6. Remove the 13 mm bolts holding the upper control arm to the spindle.
7. Use a pry bar to pry the upper control arm away from the spindle.
8. Use a ball joint separator to separate the ball joint from the control arm.
9. Remove the old ball joint from the control arm.
10. Clean the control arm where the old ball joint was installed.
11. Apply grease to the new ball joint.
12. Install the new ball joint in the control arm. Make sure to insert the ball joint from the top of the control arm. The hole to put it through might not be noticeable as it could still have rubber plugs, if so pull the plugs out with pliers and it will be visible
13. Tighten the 13 mm bolts attaching the upper control arm to the spindle.
14. Reinstall the brake caliper and rotor.
15. Reinstall the wheels and lug nuts.
16. Lower the vehicle.
17. Test drive the vehicle to ensure that the ball joint is properly installed and functioning correctly.
