1. Locate the battery cover:
- The battery cover is usually located on the back or bottom of the keypad. Look for a small, rectangular or circular cover that is held in place with screws or snap tabs.
2. Remove the battery cover:
- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the screws that hold the battery cover in place, or gently pry open the snap tabs with your fingers. Be careful not to break the cover or damage the keypad.
3. Remove the old batteries:
- Once the battery cover is removed, you will see the old batteries inside. Gently remove the batteries by lifting them out of the battery compartment.
4. Insert the new batteries:
- Take the new batteries (2 AA batteries) and align the positive (+) terminals with the positive terminals in the battery compartment. Make sure the batteries are inserted correctly, following the polarity markings.
5. Replace the battery cover:
- After the new batteries are in place, replace the battery cover and secure it with the screws or snap tabs. Make sure the cover is properly closed and secure.
6. Test the keypad:
- Press any button on the keypad to test if it is working properly. If the keypad lights up and responds to your input, the batteries have been successfully changed.
