Replacement Speakers
Step-by-Step Instructions:
*Disconnecting the Battery*
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. This is an important safety step.
*Removing the Door Panel*
2. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the two screws at the bottom of the door panel.
3. Using a flat head screwdriver, pry up the door panel clips along the side and top of the door.
4. Lift the door panel up and over the window sill to remove it.
*Removing the Old Speaker*
5. Locate the original factory speaker. It is mounted on a bracket inside the door.
6. Remove the screws holding the speaker in place.
7. Disconnect the speaker wires by depressing the release tabs and pulling the connectors apart.
*Installing the New Speaker*
8. Connect the speaker wires to the new speaker, being sure to match the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals correctly.
9. Mount the new speaker to the bracket using the screws removed in step 6.
*Reinstall the Door Panel*
10. Reinstall the door panel by lining up the clips with the holes in the door and pressing down until they snap into place.
11. Replace the two screws at the bottom of the door panel.
The new speakers are now installed. Reconnect the battery and test the speakers. Enjoy the new sound!
*Note: If your Dodge Dakota has an amplified sound system, you may need to purchase a special adapter to connect the new speakers to the factory wiring.
