Materials Needed:
- Replacement headlight bulb (H7 type for low beam and HB3 type for high beam)
- A slotted screwdriver.
- Clean rag.
Procedure:
Step 1 - Open the Hood:
- Open the hood of your Sorento and secure it in the open position with the hood prop.
Step 2 - Locate the Headlight Assembly:
- Locate the headlight assembly on the side where you want to replace the bulb. Each assembly consists of a low-beam and a high-beam bulb.
Step 3 - Access the Bulb Holder:
- Turn the bulb holder counterclockwise to remove it.
Step 4 - Unplug the Bulb Connector:
- Gently pull the electrical connector from the bulb.
Step 5 - Remove the Old Bulb:
- Take the old bulb out of the socket by gently twisting and pulling it until it comes out.
Step 6 - Insert the New Bulb:
- Align the new bulb with the socket and twist it into place until it is firmly seated.
Step 7 - Reattach the Bulb Connector:
- Reattach the bulb connector to the socket.
Step 8 - Replace the Bulb Holder:
- Insert the bulb holder back into the headlight assembly and turn it clockwise until it locks into place.
Step 9 - Repeat for the High-beam Bulb (if necessary):
- If you are also replacing the high-beam bulb, repeat steps 3 to 8 for the high-beam bulb located in the same headlight assembly.
Step 10 - Repeat on the Other Side (if necessary):
- Repeat steps 1-9 for the other side of the vehicle, if necessary.
Step 11 - Close the Hood:
- Close the hood of the Kia Sorento by gently lowering it and releasing the hood prop.
