How do you replace rear shocks on 1998-2003 Toyota sienna?

Tools and materials needed:

- Replacement rear shocks

- Socket set

- Wrench set

- Jack and jack stands

- Safety glasses

- Gloves

Instructions:

1. Park the Sienna on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheels, then jack up the vehicle and place it on jack stands.

3. Remove the lug nuts and take off the rear wheels.

4. Locate the upper shock mount bolts inside the trunk. There will be two bolts on each side.

5. Use a socket wrench to loosen and remove the upper shock mount bolts.

6. Locate the lower shock mount bolts on the underside of the vehicle. There will be two bolts on each side.

7. Use a socket wrench to loosen and remove the lower shock mount bolts.

8. Carefully lower the shock absorber from the vehicle.

9. Install the new shock absorbers in reverse order of removal.

10. Tighten all nuts and bolts securely.

11. Lower the vehicle off the jack stands and put the wheels back on.

Tips:

* If the nuts and bolts are rusty or difficult to remove, you can use a penetrating oil to loosen them.

* Be careful not to drop the shock absorbers when removing them from the vehicle.

* When installing the new shocks, make sure that the upper and lower mount bolts are tightened securely.
