1. Stop the vehicle in a clean area.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Start the vehicle.
4. Make sure the transmission is in neutral.
5. Press and hold the shifter button while pressing the shifter.
6. Move the shifter to "4H".
7. Release the shifter button.
8. Engage the 4WD system,
9. Drive the car at between 30 to 35 mph.
10. Press and hold the shifter button while pressing the shifter.
11. Move the shifter to "2WD".
12. Release the shifter button.
13. Press and release the clutch pedal
Method 2: Manual Transmission
1. Stop the vehicle in a clear area.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Start the vehicle.
4. Press the clutch and the brake.
5. Move the shifter into "N".
6. Keep your foot on the clutch pedal.
7. Move the transfer level into "HI".
8. Lift your foot off the clutch pedal.
9. Drive the vehicle between 30 and 35 mph.
10. Keep your foot off the clutch pedal while doing so.
11. Press the clutch pedal again.
12. Place the transfer level into "L".
13. Release the clutch pedal.
14. Put the transmission in "N".
15. Move the transfer case to "N".
16. Put the transmission into "N" again.
17. Move the transfer level to "2H".
