4. Use a screwdriver or a plastic trim removal tool to pry open the plastic cover behind the mirror. This cover usually hides the retaining bolts.
5. Use the socket set to loosen and remove the bolts that secure the mirror to the door panel or mirror base. There might be 2-3 bolts.
6. Carefully remove the mirror assembly from the vehicle. Be cautious as it may still be connected by electrical wires.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the mirror. This usually involves squeezing a plastic retaining tab and unplugging the connector.
8. Compare the new mirror with the old one. Ensure they match in terms of mounting points, electrical connectors, and overall design.
9. Connect the electrical connector to the new mirror. Ensure a secure connection.
10. Align the new mirror to the door panel or mirror base. Insert the bolts and tighten them securely using the socket set.
11. Test the mirror's movement and functionality. Adjust it using the power mirror controls inside the vehicle.
12. Reattach the plastic cover over the mirror assembly. Make sure it snaps into place securely.
13. Verify that the mirror is stable and fully functional.
14. Clean the area and properly dispose of the old mirror.
